Incident Summary:
VE6KDX, who had posted a wanted listing for a tuner, was approached by someone claiming to be VE1CSA. The scammer used a fake email address, pretending to be the legitimate operator, and responded to the listing, offering the requested tuner for sale. The scammer, going by the alias “GBOLAHAN DANIEL ESANOLA,” provided convincing details and seemed credible at first glance.
VE6KDX, noticing inconsistencies, became suspicious and did not proceed with the transaction. It was later confirmed that the real VE1CSA had no involvement in this offer.
