Transceivers
At its basic description a ‘ham radio transceiver is a device that combines a radio transmitter and a receiver in a single unit’. Transceivers form the backbone of the amateur radio hobby with multiple varieties found in the hamshack’s of amateur radio operators.
Transceivers are available in a variety of sizes and complexities, ranging from handheld portable radios to full-size base station units. You’ll find a number of different transceiver categories on hamshack.ca from HF Base Transceivers to handhelds, and from various manufacturers including Yaesu, Icom and Kenwood, just to name a few. These different models cover amateur bands from 160 meters to 23 cm, and allow you to join in the excitement of operating on all of the modes—SSB, AM CW, RTTY, PSK, and dozens of other digital modes.
