Federation of Amateur Radio Clubs of Quebec (RAQI)
“Amateur radio is a scientific and communication hobby. Many people in Quebec engage in this hobby, and many of them have taken it up for different reasons, whether for its DIY aspect, to offer services to their community, for competitions, for communications all over the world, and for many other equally valid reasons.
This hobby, while also an individual pursuit, has an important social aspect. In fact, radio amateurs use frequency bands that are reserved for them but are part of the spectrum of electromagnetic waves that are increasingly solicited for commercial purposes and for which corporations such as Bell, Rogers or others are willing to pay astronomical amounts to use or at least share. Radio amateurs therefore want to maintain the reserved and free use of their frequency bands.
