The R-1518 is a small VHF monitoring receiver used by the military in the mid-70’s.
It covers the 20-50 and 50-150 Mhz bands on AM/FM/CW with a 10kHz or 75kHz bandwith. Note that the FM demodulator is meant for military wide-band FM and though it does demodulate narrow-band FM, audio is low level. Operation on AM, in particular the Aircraft portion of the band is excellent.
– Built in calibrator.
– RF amplifier FET 3 stages (tuned circuit 4 stages)
– IF 10.7MHz crystal filter 10 / 75KHz switching
– Power supply Internal 12 “D” cell batteries, external 24VDC 110 / 220VAC. I’m including an 24VDC AC adapter and cable connector. I’ve not confirmed the internal AC 110 or 220 VAC operation.
– Requires 600 ohm speaker or phones. I’m including a modified military 600 ohm speaker that works perfectly with this set.
– Includes mobile shock mount and original Technical Manual
