These are transmitters that would broadcast information about a house for sale on the a.m. band so you could listen in your car out front of the house.   They are 100mW, I believe.  I have one set up in my basement and can hear it about 250m give or take.   If you were to set one up on the second floor you could get more range.   I use this to transmit to my tube radios to play oldies on them.   There are mods that can be done for better audio (designed for voice) and other mods for antennas etc that can be found on youtube.

These items were bought from a realtor and do not looked like they have even been used.   the one I took out of the box was still package, as bought, with  protective plastic on the front of the unit.  bought 5 of them and plan to keep 2.    I am feeding the audio input on mine with an old laptop running winamp.
