Vintage Icom 710 (YES, a 710 and not a 701) HF Transceiver – Parts Only (PRICE REDUCED)
From the estate of VE7DYR of Courtenay BC.
An Icom IC-710 HF transceiver. The IC-710 is a Japanese-market version of the once-popular IC-701, and very few of them made it to market outside of Japan. The rig is marked “IC-701” on the model plate, but the front panel stencilling identifies it as an IC-710. There are likely some frequency coverage or power level differences specific to the 70s-era Japanese amateur radio regulations that are implemented in the rig.
The rig comes with a matching IC-701PS power supply. The rig is in fair cosmetic shape, as is the power supply. The rig has been partially disassembled so it was not possible to apply power and test its functionality.
The disassembly of the rig appears to be hardware only, with disconnection of some wiring harnesses. It would be possible to reattach the harnesses and bolt the rig back together in order to test it. There is likely some issue, though as it would not make sense to disassemble a working radio in this manner.
This ad is meant to target vintage Icom collectors or others with experience in these reliable old rigs who might be interested in acquiring the rig and getting it going.
Listing price is based on what “parts only” IC-701s sell for on another mainstream auction site. I could find no record of an IC-710 being sold.
The rig/PS are single owner units that were used for many years of HF enjoyment by VE7DYR.
This would be a great deal for a collector who needs a couple of parts or modules to keep his/her old IC-701 running.
Interac e-Transfer accepted, and questions welcome. Would prefer local sale to prevent need of shipping.
Thanks for looking and 73!
