Homebuilt Replica of the Drake L-4B Linear Amplifier
Homebuilt replica of the Drake L-4B. Bought this amp from a ham (now SK) in Granisle, BC back in 1994. Worked flawlessly until the input band switch started wearing out and the HV choke caught fire. I have replaced the input band switch and the HV choke but cannot get it to work. Includes two used 3-500Z tubes, all bands from 10-160m, works on WARC bands with a tuner between the transceiver and the L-4B input. Comes with a very heavy power supply built into a Department of Transport housing on wheels. This amp is impossible to ship due to its weight. Pickup in Terrace, BC only. I am throwing in a very heavy Hammond T4T Transformer, primary 115/230V, secondary 3450V, power rating 2000 VA (if interested). Again, THIS AMP DOES NOT WORK. Someone with electronics skills can most likely get it to run again. I can send pictures to potential buyers. Selling for $500
