QCARC Launches New Website and Streamlines Swap Shop with Hamshack.ca Integration
The Quarter Century Amateur Radio Club (QCARC) of Alberta has officially launched their newly redesigned website, now live at https://qcarc.radio.
This new digital home reflects QCARC’s modern and progressive approach to supporting amateur radio, with a fresh layout, mobile-friendly design, and streamlined access to club information, events, and technical resources.
A standout feature of the new site is the “Swap Shop” section, where QCARC has made a forward-thinking shift. Instead of managing their own internal classified system, the Swap Shop page now redirects visitors to Hamshack.ca. There, users can browse the latest equipment, post their own gear for sale, and connect with the broader ham community nationwide. QCARC also maintains a dedicated Hamshack.ca Club Page, which offers an overview of the club and displays Alberta-filtered listings submitted by its members and regional hams.
This integration reflects QCARC’s ongoing commitment to efficiency and resource sharing within the amateur radio community. By transitioning their classifieds to Hamshack.ca, QCARC eliminates the overhead of maintaining a standalone system—an approach increasingly adopted by other clubs for its cost-effectiveness and operational simplicity.
QCARC continues to lead by example in Alberta, offering training, support, and a strong voice for amateur radio operators. Their new website serves as a model for how local clubs can modernize their online presence and collaborate across platforms to better serve the amateur radio community.
